In this sea of choices, turbocharging is the standard all-wheel drive is more and more common because of the number of astronomical outputs, and active differentials and suspensions are programmed to give you levels of the group B trust.

The only thing that is quite regrettable is the location of the license plate bracket, almost dead in the middle of the grid, giving the appearance of buckteeth S3. The radar cruise control dome, just below the license plate, is the soul patch this Audi.
Moving to the side, S3 is almost indistinguishable from the A3. Large wheels unleashed its position and close the gap to the wing. The larger brakes with red calipers optional tell the world that you mean business - at least as regards the judgment in haste. Meanwhile, the only true difference is in the body the rocker panels. They are a little more flared S3 compared to the curve in the treatment seen on the A3
At the rear, the S3 is adorned with another fake body part -. A "diffuser" - and the addition of two additional exhaust outlets; one on each side. The A3 normal already has dual exhaust, so Audi thought they had doubled. Aside from the changes below the waist, the S3 also has a small spoiler attached to the trunk.
We are not talking typically paint finishes in journals, but the photos do not do justice to the Spang Blue Pearl paint effect on our S3 tester. The depth and shimmer on this shade of blue is another world, but do not count on super-heavy metal flakes such as diamond options Tricoat seen on Cadillacs and other GM premium products. To be honest, after driving the A6 and A7, you expect the S3 - because it is a "special model" - would live up to these cars. However, due to packaging constraints, ease of use of controls suffering. Cupholders are placed in front instead of behind the gear lever. And while Audi does pride itself in its own German flavor of booking, environmental controls are a bit simple for a car costing more than $ 40,000 to start.
Everything else in the cabin could be described as a simple luxury. Winds feel like they are tailored simply made to specification. The materials are high quality, but perhaps not up to par with other Audis further up the beach. However, compared with the AMG-Mercedes CLA 45, the S3 is by far the champion of interior quality. (Adjust the vents in the side-by-side S3 with CLA and you'll know exactly what I mean.)
Our tester, not equipped with seats optional sport was as comfortable as any large sedan, tight in the back for the actual size of adults who are not contortionists on tour with Cirque du Soleil. Trunk space is also fairly limited to 10 cubic feet. CLA 45 can swallow an additional 3.1 cubic what you want. If you like the powertrain in the S3, but prefer a hatchback, Volkswagen will be happy to sell you a Golf R with 22.8 cubic feet of cargo space - and this is before you put the rear seats
Infotainment
Audi S3 has the same solution of pop-up screen that the A3 on which it is based. Unfortunately, the screen is a bit small, measuring 7 inches diagonally, and is located away from the driver.
The solution from Audi is not a touch screen case. Instead, all features are accessible via the MMI knob and buttons on the center console associated. Although it is nice to have as a primary mode of operation, having a touch screen would be a fantastic secondary characteristic -. But this is not the case
Between the speedometer and tachometer dials before the driver sits another small LCD screen with the basic information you expect - fuel economy, navigation, etc. It is clear and, to the extent additional screens are concerned, dead simple to use and beautiful to watch. However, having the full experience of the virtual cockpit would be great. Unfortunately, these are not available.
Indeed, Audi MMI has a ton of features, but it does not take the BMW iDrive candle. In addition, BMW displays are on another level, especially large HD screens available in some of the top models. Yet MMI easily bests Mercedes-Benz COMAND in my opinion that the Mercedes solution seems clumsy and coarse next to its German rivals.
Powertrain

The other issue is not. how well the engine performs, but where the engine can be found: the Volkswagen Golf R. If you want the same performance and do not want to spend money Audi, a Volkswagen ago in search of a good home. In addition, the Golf R can be had with a stick, unlike the sedan from Ingolstadt.

The S3 might not be as brutal as its competitors from Germany, but it makes up in class.
